Brows: Rapidbrow, HD Brows and Make-Up.

Unfortunately I wasnt blessed with great eyebrows, I'm fair and being a child of the 90's I over plucked my eyebrows as a teenager and well, they've never really had the strength to come back...

Last year I left them for 6 months, no tweezing, or waxing and well, nothing happened. Zero growth apart from maybe five or six stray random hairs. Great.

I did a bit of research online and read a LOT of positive reviews about Rapidbrow. Here's what lookfantastic.com say:

Put the wow back in your brow with this brow enhancing serum helps transform weak, uneven, sparse brows into healthier looking and more beautiful brows. RapidBrow Eyebrow Enhancing Serum is a clinically proven formular with an exclusive Hexatein™ 2 Complex, a unique blend of fortifying proteins, stimulating peptides and nourishing ingredients.Designed to help condition, restore and repair the appearance of eyebrows in 60 days

I managed to find the serum on Amazon at a good price of £23 (click here for the link) instead of the usually RRP of £37 which, to be honest I think is steep.

These are my brows to begin with.

The serum arrived within two days and I started using it morning AND night as instructed, I didnt notice any real difference until about 30 days, when I noticed my brows were definitely denser and darker. I purchased another tube (one lasts a month as a rule). Its really easy to use with a mascara like wand and clear colour serum you just brush through your brows. There was no irritation or redness.

After 60 days my eyebrows had definitely improved, there was more growth, the colour had darkened and they were noticeably thicker.

Some people would notice growth by not plucking their brows for 60 days, but honestly this is like a small miracle!

This image is after 60 days use, morning and night.

I then decided to visit the lovely Lisa Curzon for a HD brow treatment (I also had LVL Lash lift which is why you might notice a different in my lashes, I LOVED this treatment, more on that again) Lisa took time shaping my brows with a combination of dying, waxing, threading and plucking. The treatment costs £25.

These pictures are a week after the HD treatment, brushed brows and filled in using a brow gel.

What a difference some make-up makes! This eyebrow gel by Illamasqua at £18,50 is lovely and lasts all day, its really important to use a small dense angle brush and to fill in from the arch outwards then use whats left on your brush (less product) on the inner part of your brows to avoid square brows.

All in all I am definitely going to continue using the Rapidbrow to encourage growth and thickness. I'll also be visiting Lisa again for the HD treatment, she really took time to shape what i had, I couldn't imagine spending two months using the serum only for someone to do a bad shape or god forbit make them too thin!

I hope you liked this post, I know brows are such a hot topic and really make such a difference to someones face. This is proof that with a combination of products, treatments and time you can change your brows from being a bit shit to a hell of a lot better!

Real Bride, Aime

One of my many christmas brides, Aime, got married at Oxwich Bay Hotel this December and I've just received these lovely images from John Wellings Photography. Aime opted for a very natural, classic bridal look for herself and two bridesmaids.

London location shoot

Here are a few gorgeous images from a recent test shoot with Morgan Ellis Williams in London

Model: Katie Attwater @ Premier Model Management

I haven’t had a chance to upload pics of all the brides trials I have done for this winter. A lot of people opt for this classic vintage look, I just wish for a sprinkling of snow to go with it for added romance and glamour. This look is timeless, and suits pale, winter skin. I created depth on the eyelid using matt brown eyeshadow and highlighted the centre of the lid using a white eyeshadow, a 1950’s flick with black eyeliner and false eyelashes completes the eye. Useing a pale concealer around the lips before lining will give a crisp red line which you can then fill in with a red lipstick of your choice, blot and then reapply lipstick for added longevity, and for a sultry pout place a thin line of a nude eyeliner along the lop lip line, just above the red liner, but be careful not to smudge!
Applying blusher after you have finished the eyes and lips will allow you to add as little as you need as over doing the blusher on this look can easily make you look as though you’re wearing too much make-up… be careful and build slowly on the apples of the cheeks, if you do apply too much then use a clean cotton pad to gently take off the top layer, and you can also tone it down further using a light finishing powder.

Being a busy Mum, finding time to shower, dry my hair and make myself presentable is a lot harder since having my little boy, which is why my everyday make-up has to be quick!
I always cleanse, use serum then moisturiser twice a day, so my skin is prepared for make-up, at the moment I am using MAC Studio fix foundation, which I work in with a real techniques buffing brush. I cover any blemishes and dark circles using my finger tips from my kryolan dermacolour camoflage palette, which I find really useful  as it has a lot of very good concealers in different tones and works with my skin tone as it changes from winter into summer.
For my eyes, again using my fingers I use MAC paintpot in Groundwork, a really nice taupe brown to add a bit of dimension to my face, then a barry M brown eyeliner top and bottom, and smudged, again with my fingers.
 Mascara, obviously.
I would love to be blessed with full, dark eyebrows like Cara Delevigne, unfortunately, I am not so I quickly fill in my brows using MAC brows in Fling, a really good colour to give a natural look to blonde brows.
Then one of my favourite time saving products, Benefit Benetint over my lips and cheeks and a quick glow using MAC Pearl highlighter over the highs of my cheekbones, under my brows, down the centre of my nose and top lip.
To finish I use Benefit dandelion powder, a really nice fresh powder to brighten and set the make-up.

I have just got my hands on this new Pro Palette by Lorac Cosmetics, it’s the first time I have used their eyeshadows, but after reading extremely good reviews online i decided to order it and I am over the moon with it, the top two rows are matte colours and the bottom two shimmers.
The pigment is unbelievable, I use the tiniest amount of product on my brush and it goes such a ling way, the texture is so smooth and buttery and they blend like a dream… I am hooked and will be ordering a lot more…

 Sooooo pleased to get my hands in this!! #loraccosmetics #loracpro #eyeshadow #mua #makeupbyme #motd #eyeshadowpalette #pigment #ilovemakeup #lorac #loracmegapro

I’m over the moon that these images have been published in Flawless Magazine. We shot this a few weeks back in Miskin Manor, just outside of Cardiff. We had planned on shooting a lot more outside as the grounds there are absolutely gorgeous, however in true British form the weather was against us and rained, heavily! We managed a break in the clouds for a few images outside, but the shots we managed to get inside have turned out better than we could have hoped.

For the make-up I took inspiration from Ginger Rogers, Audrey Hepburn and of course, Marilyn Monroe, lots of lashes, a small 50’s flick liner and deep socket contouring, and for the lips I used MAC lipliner in Currant, and lipstick Hang Up

These images were from my first location shoot. We met on a grey day in late spring in the beautiful botanical gardens in Singleton Park, Swansea. Looking back I really didn’t know what to expect and had to make do with what we had. Lucy and Ewa were both so lovely and I am thrilled with the final images. I love Ewa’s style, romantic and ethereal and Lucy is gorgeous and I am very proud of what we achieved, even if I did apply the make-up on a park bench!
