Brows: Rapidbrow, HD Brows and Make-Up.

Unfortunately I wasnt blessed with great eyebrows, I'm fair and being a child of the 90's I over plucked my eyebrows as a teenager and well, they've never really had the strength to come back...

Last year I left them for 6 months, no tweezing, or waxing and well, nothing happened. Zero growth apart from maybe five or six stray random hairs. Great.

I did a bit of research online and read a LOT of positive reviews about Rapidbrow. Here's what lookfantastic.com say:

I managed to find the serum on Amazon at a good price of £23 (click here for the link) instead of the usually RRP of £37 which, to be honest I think is steep.

These are my brows to begin with.

The serum arrived within two days and I started using it morning AND night as instructed, I didnt notice any real difference until about 30 days, when I noticed my brows were definitely denser and darker. I purchased another tube (one lasts a month as a rule). Its really easy to use with a mascara like wand and clear colour serum you just brush through your brows. There was no irritation or redness.

After 60 days my eyebrows had definitely improved, there was more growth, the colour had darkened and they were noticeably thicker.

Some people would notice growth by not plucking their brows for 60 days, but honestly this is like a small miracle!

This image is after 60 days use, morning and night.

I then decided to visit the lovely Lisa Curzon for a HD brow treatment (I also had LVL Lash lift which is why you might notice a different in my lashes, I LOVED this treatment, more on that again) Lisa took time shaping my brows with a combination of dying, waxing, threading and plucking. The treatment costs £25.

These pictures are a week after the HD treatment, brushed brows and filled in using a brow gel.

What a difference some make-up makes! This eyebrow gel by Illamasqua at £18,50 is lovely and lasts all day, its really important to use a small dense angle brush and to fill in from the arch outwards then use whats left on your brush (less product) on the inner part of your brows to avoid square brows.

All in all I am definitely going to continue using the Rapidbrow to encourage growth and thickness. I'll also be visiting Lisa again for the HD treatment, she really took time to shape what i had, I couldn't imagine spending two months using the serum only for someone to do a bad shape or god forbit make them too thin!

I hope you liked this post, I know brows are such a hot topic and really make such a difference to someones face. This is proof that with a combination of products, treatments and time you can change your brows from being a bit shit to a hell of a lot better!

Easy natural brows using eyeshadow

Brows make a HUGE difference to the face and they should never be overlooked or forgotten.

Applying products to your brows and filling them in doesn't mean that they will look unnatural and obviously drawn on. You just need to have the correct product, tools and most of all, colour.

If you are fair like me use ashy colours and steer clear of anything with warm undertones as they will look orange (Benfits 'Brow Zing is a terrible shade, if you're a red head its great). The darker your hair colour the easier it is to match up a shade that will look natural, you can allow to go a shade lighter or darker if you colour your hair.

The aim when doing your brows is to fill in missing hairs rather than drawing on a different shape.

Yes, you can tweak and make them slightly longer or thicker but be careful not to get carried away. You have to work with what you have been given and don't worry too much about your eyebrows matching each other perfectly, as Goss Make-Up Artist says: eyebrows are sisters not twins. Mine aren't even related!

There are a lot of products on the market for brows, my favourites are Mac 'Eye Brows' and Anastasia Beverley Hill 'Dipbrow'

For this blog post I'm using Nars 'God Created the Woman' eyeshadow palette as most people will have some brown shadows lurking in their makeup bag.

To get really natural looking brows try using two different shades, the lighter at the inner part of the brows working into a darker shade on the arch and to the tip. I used the top left and bottom right colours from this palette.

Begin from the arch of your brow rather then from the inner point as this should look the least effected by product, going too heavy around this area can make them look drawn on and harsh.

Its really important to use a thin, firm fine angled brush to apply the colour, draw on individual hairs rather than filling in an entire brow. I used the Illamasqua angled brush from their travel range, I like that it is stiff and very thin.

If you make any mistakes or go little too far, just take a damp cotton bud and remove and excess product.

xx
